Join Bergen County CHADD, a local New Jersey chapter, as they welcome Caroline Maguire to speak at their monthly support group for parents of kids with ADHD.Hosted on the first Monday of each month,
During this meeting, participants will:
- Explore how ADHD traits and rejection sensitivity shape young-adult and adult friendship, especially in new settings like college, first jobs, or moving back home.
- Learn the 3 Ps framework (Participation, Practice, Perspective) and how to apply it to everyday social situations, both in-person and online.
- Learn to slow down the friendship process: spotting when someone is a “say hi” person, a “buddy,” or a true “friend,” so you can invest your energy more wisely.
- Practice simple follow-up and “keeping in touch” strategies – texts, micro-check-ins, and low-pressure invitations – that fit an ADHD brain and a busy schedule.
- Walk away with a more compassionate understanding of yourself and a concrete set of steps to start finding “your people” in ways that feel emotionally and neurologically safe.
