Session #3: Navigating Interviews:
Practical Ways to Prepare and Communicate Effectively

This session teaches interview strategies specifically designed for adults with ADHD. Participants will learn how to set up an organized, low-distraction environment; use memory supports; and practice techniques that improve focus, confidence, and clear communication during both remote and in-person interviews. The session also covers how to manage nervousness, understand different types of interview questions, and talk about ADHD-related work experiences in a professional, confident way.
Participants will be able to:
- apply ADHD-friendly strategies to manage nervousness, rejection sensitivity, and emotions throughout the interview process.
- prepare for interviews by organizing their environment, reducing distractions, and using tools that support focus and memory.
- demonstrate clear and concise responses to interview questions, including those that are vague or open-ended.
- use memory aids and note-taking strategies to recall key details from interview conversations.
- explain employment gaps, job changes, or other ADHD-related experiences in a confident and professional way.
Speaker Information: Jean Tidd, LISW-S, ADHD-CCSP, is a licensed independent social worker, ADHD therapist, and founder of Badass ADHD Coaching, a practice dedicated to providing comprehensive ADHD evaluations, therapy, coaching, and parent training. Based in Columbus, Ohio, she brings over 20 years of teaching experience from The Ohio State University and currently serves on the CHADD board of directors. She specializes in making ADHD support accessible, evidence-based, and empowering. Her work helps ADHD adults build practical systems, strengthen emotional regulation, and increase confidence in high-pressure moments—especially in the workplace. She is passionate about translating research into real-world tools that improve performance, communication, and self-advocacy.
