Session #1: Nutrition and Healthy Eating with ADHD

Presenter: Dr. Roberto Olivardia, PhD

Explore the role of nutrition in supporting brain health and managing ADHD symptoms.

At the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Understand how ADHD symptoms can affect eating habits and choices
  • Understand which foods and nutrients may be beneficial for ADHD symptoms and brain health and which ones may exacerbate symptoms
  • Identify common nutritional/dietary issues for people with ADHD
  • Receive practical tips for daily healthy choices and creating a health plan

Roberto Olivardia, PhD, is a clinical psychologist, a clinical associate at McLean Hospital, and a lecturer in the department of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He maintains a private psychotherapy practice in Lexington, Massachusetts, where he specializes in the treatment of ADHD, body dysmorphic disorder, and obsessive-compulsive disorder. He also specializes in the treatment of eating disorders in boys and men. In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Olivardia is an active researcher. He is coauthor of The Adonis Complex, a book that details the various manifestations of body image problems in males. He is on the professional advisory boards for CHADD and the Attention Deficit Disorder Association. He is on the scientific advisory board for ADDitude and is a featured expert for Understood. He presents at many conferences, podcasts, and webinars around the country.
